Please note that hand written letters from constituents seem to be the most effective form of communication with Capitol Hill. Note the story from NC below. I think we should encourage our folks to write these letters, bundle other letters from their friends and neighbors, and hand deliver them to local offices (www.senate.gov)
Just something to think about as we continue to pound away against Obamacare and cap and tax.
Thanks!

Allen,
I wanted to let you know about a meeting today with Senator Richard Burr. He spoke in Forsyth County today and talked about health care reform as well as cap and trade.
He took Q and A when he was finished and called on me. I commented about the efforts we are making by hand writing letters and carrying them to Sen. Hagan's office. I also commented on the protests we are doing outside of her office. My question was is there any hope that she will do anything other than what the Dems want her to do and are our efforts fruitless.
He did say that hand written letters were most effective and he went on to talk about some of the antics of the Dems.
When he left, I walked with him as he was leaving. He told me privately that he had gotten word from the Hagan office that they were very upset over the hand written letters. They were very worried "about the volume" was his statement. He also said that if letters are hand written, they have to be handled individually and can't be scanned in and auto replied.
I think we may have struck a nerve....just wanted you to know.
